ConlangFerro-inkResonance

Core language principles include magnetism/resonance, skin and mottling marks, dynastic/betrayal vocabulary, and a poetic 3- or 5-beat cadence associated with resonance pulses.

Starter lexicon preserved from the Foundations source:
• Bóchra (boh-khra): hidden current / resonance.
• Áilun (eye-loon): tree, life-branch, destiny.
• Sérqa (sair-kah): coil, serpent, constriction.
• Dúra (doo-rah): vault, womb, sanctum.
• Thessan (thess-ahn): betrayal, fracture, wound from within.
• Rónach (roh-nakh): song, hum, resonance field; also prayer.
• Heshka (hesh-kah): guide, whisperer, mentor.
• Braunach (brow-nakh): guardian, hound, loyal protector.

Working ritual phrases from this development layer include “Rónach bóchra, álun arise,” “Dúra sérqa, thessan coil,” and “Áilun over sérqa.” Their exact grammar, etymology, and canon status remain subject to the later language continuity pass. Earlier claims that Heshka is the root-name for Heka, Braunach the root-name for Brauna, or Bóchra the native source of the BCR acronym should not be promoted without reconciliation against later naming decisions.

Reference-section language corpus (Revision 2025-11-09):
A formal field reference supplies a 17-unit Roman/phonetic inventory with conceptual field associations and magnetic polarities: A /ɑ/ origin; E /ɛ/ reflection; I /i/ vision; O /oʊ/ continuum; U /u/ depth; SH /ʃ/ reverence; K /k/ structure; L /l/ flow/compassion; M /m/ matter; N /n/ connection; T /t/ intention; D /d/ source; R /r/ movement; F /f/ knowledge/current; H /h/ breath/spirit; S /s/ energy/motion; TH /θ/ transition/threshold.

Ferro-ink is described as carrying emotional information through hue, amplitude, phase, and glyph deformation: reverence blue/smooth, grief deep red/long-wave, joy gold-white/symmetric, anger black-to-orange/jagged, calm silver/stable; fear is erratic and broken. The script is also described as three-band: phonetic sound, resonance polarity, and emotional valence.

Grammar/reference claims include VSO word order; emotional prefixes ma-/sha-/ko-; no grammatical gender but Source/Flow polarity; cyclical tense/aspect (seed, bloom, harvest, fall); base-7 numbers; first-syllable stress; and breath-length clauses. Pronunciation notes include c=/k/, ch=/x/, dh=/ð/, bh=/v/ or /β/, sh=/ʃ/.

The source preserves idioms, blessings, expletives, Codex fragments, common speech, and emotional expressions. These are valuable continuity evidence, but internal glosses conflict in places (for example ko-fin is variously ‘no,’ ‘lost knowing,’ and part of ‘no lie within you’). Therefore exact morphology and translations remain WORKING until a dedicated language consistency pass.

The source also claims the language descends from proto-Celtic, Egyptian, and Martian resonance codes. That origin statement should remain provisional because it may depend on the retired deep-prehistory/cultural-influence architecture.

Open questions

  • Which starter lexicon definitions and pronunciations remain final canon after the language continuity pass?
  • Are Heshka→Heka and Braunach→Brauna true in-world etymologies or discarded development notes?
  • Does Bóchra remain related to BCR, and if so is that an in-world derivation or later naming synthesis?
  • Which ritual phrases survive in final form?
  • Which common-speech glosses are semantically stable enough to lock, especially ko-fin, ser-, lun, ma-, sha-, and ruun?
  • Is the three-band script system final canon?
  • Does the proto-Celtic/Egyptian/resonance-code origin survive the newer ~6,000-year chronology?
  • Are the Unicode glyph forms literal in-world shapes or only text approximations for the story bible?
