Scientific function
A deep-time panspermia/common-origin event supplies related biochemical foundations across Ovara. It makes later compatibility possible, not easy.
Mythic function
The Mother Stone carries a brood through deep space, is caught by Aruun, can no longer remain whole, and releases what she carries among the four inner worlds.
Cultural teaching
The story says endurance has limits; release need not equal abandonment; survival cannot be promised; what is carried may continue.
Key line
Sometimes holding on destroys what you mean to protect.
Open questions
- Final prose is not locked.
- Exact scientific mechanics remain plausibility-level rather than hard-SF proof.
