Useful retained premise: Fin can be removed or fully disconnected without necessarily killing Rowan, though physical removal may be medically traumatic. Older proposals that Heka deliberately removes Fin to test whether Rowan deserves it, or that reunion proves worthiness, are not current canon. The most important present-day use of separability is Rowan’s agency: she can choose to close the handshake and ultimately lay Fin down rather than wield it against Danu.

- What is the distinction between closing the handshake, detaching Fin voluntarily, and surgical/forced removal?
- Can an adversary force physical removal without Rowan or Fin cooperating?
